Ohio Right to Life makes no sense. It’s practically atrocious what they took part in just this month; working to help VETO the Heartbeat Bill in Ohio.
Just after the veto, Ohio Right to Life issued an article thanking the Governor (who vetoed the bill) for signing another pro life bill that saves babies from 40 weeks in the womb (then they mention that he vetoed the Heartbeat Bill.) They continue, to “sincerely thank Governor Kasich for his unwavering support for the unborn and our pro-life mission.”
Uhm… what? Thanks Mr. Governor for signing a bill that will save babies from 40 weeks on.. but thanks for vetoing a bill that would have saved babies that had heartbeats!?
In the article, Mike Gonidakis, President of Ohio Right to Life stated, “Recently, the Governor on the Ohio House floor stated: “Political calculations ought to be left at the door.” Gov. Kasich put those words into action today by laying aside the heartbeat bill. By endorsing the 20-week ban in lieu of the heartbeat approach, Governor Kasich provided strong pro-life leadership to finally engage a winnable battle with the federal judiciary while saving countless babies at the same time.”
Can we expect anything less of the world we live in today? Well, no. Is there anything we can do about it? YES. We can pray. And we can take careful steps to make sure the pro life organization that we work with stands for ALL LIFE, from conception to natural death; standing against all contraception, and is willing to make sure that human life is protected. TRULY protected.
I personally take part in the 40 Days For Life movement in my state; the people I work with who are in charge of it in my state are strongly against all abortion, INCLUDING CONTRACEPTION. On top of everything the movement focuses more on the prayerful battle; which is the best out of any battle we could do today, for it is GOD and only GOD who can change the hearts and minds of people.
What exactly does 40 Days for Life do?
“The mission of the campaign is to bring together the body of Christ in a spirit of unity during a focused 40-day campaign of prayer, fasting, and peaceful activism, with the purpose of repentance, to seek God’s favor to turn hearts and minds from a culture of death to a culture of life, thus bringing an end to abortion.”
“40 Days for Life is a community-based campaign that takes a determined, peaceful approach to showing local communities the consequences of abortion in their own neighborhoods, for their own friends and families. It puts into action a desire to cooperate with God in the carrying out of His plan for the end of abortion. It draws attention to the evil of abortion through the use of a three-point program:
- Prayer and fasting
- Constant vigil
- Community outreach
The 40-day campaign tracks Biblical history, where God used 40-day periods to transform individuals, communities … and the entire world. From Noah in the flood to Moses on the mountain to the disciples after Christ’s resurrection, it is clear that God sees the transformative value of His people accepting and meeting a 40-day challenge.”

Always be sure that the people you are fighting with are fighting for the same thing you are; that they are fighting for what the Church teaches. There is a lot of confusion and division out there, so pray, pray hard and keep your eyes wide open.
Until next time, God bless!
