US Catholic is a magazine that is unfortunately popular amongst Catholics – thought it is known for its anti-Catholic leanings such as Women Priests, downplaying abortion as important, promotion of LGBT and others. See also my review here.
You would hope that with a large spread of readers from all over – Catholic & non-Catholic that Catholic’s would take the time to realize the importance of making a good example in how they portray the Catholic Church. But this is a huge problem that has been occurring in the Church for many years… US Catholic magazine is just one of them. See my future post on this subject…
This is Meghan Murphy-Gill’s bio as seen on US Catholic’s official website;
Managing Editor, U.S. Catholic
Meghan Murphy-Gill joined the U.S. Catholic staff as the managing editor in 2016. She is a writer and editor specializing in food, travel, culture, and, of course, religion and spirituality. Her writing has appeared in Entertainment Weekly, New York Magazine, and the Chicago Tribune. She’s the former editor of Drive Thru, Gapers Block’s food and dining section and has previously served as assistant editor, associate editor, and web editor of U.S. Catholic. Meghan holds a B.A. in Journalism from James Madison University and an M.A. in Theology from Catholic Theological Union, where she was a Bernardin Scholar.
On Meghan’s personal Twitter she shows some pretty nasty colors. In addition to (of course) President Trump-bashing tweets, pro – immigration drivel, “muslim ban” complaints, CNN retweets, which is to be expected from Libcats:
Yet another Liberal Catholic who is revelling in being a terrible example; who complains about made up issues that the Mainstream Media pushes. All The While ignoring the real issues, like Abortion, Homosexuality (especially in the Priesthood), the Crisis in the Church, … etc.
Oh sigh. Another one to add to the prayer list.
Until next time, God Bless & Keep It Trad!
