I can’t stop laughing, because the irony is just too funny.
You have probably heard of the Peace love and hot dog Catholics; you know, that one’s that attack you with fallacious statements if you have the audacity to disagree with them?
Well here’s a great story:
Once upon a time during one of those silly Steubenville Conferences that bring “so many souls to the faith” for a few years, a couple of priest began break dancing on the stage. Someone filmed it and made a tweet about it on Twitter.
Apparently a lot of Catholic’s thought it was scandalous. I didn’t like it, but less for the reason of the booty shaking, and more because I don’t care for the whole Youth conference thing to begin with. For many, many reasons. One being that I had many experiences with such feelings-based Catholicism a few years ago, and it did not go well. What ended up pulling me out of my past life and into full-on adoration of Christ, His Mother and His Church was the Latin Mass. (Holy hades! Did she just say that!?)
PS: Yes, it’s not a sin that I don’t prefer modern day youth “evangelization” methods, it’s actually call free will… or rather, a difference in preference?
There were quite a few who disliked the video, for various reasons. A few being that they thought it was scandalous. Which may have been a tad true, but that wasn’t the main reason why I disliked. Others blamed it as another example of the “Spirit of Vatican II” and what not.
But of course, all those who disagreed with the great Church of “Nice” put everyone in the barrel of “radical, hateful, Sedevacantists”, and proceeded to treat them like dirt. Oh of course, when called out on it, they rebuffed the statement with the Trads first treating them like dirt. And so on. Welcome to high school?
I had first heard of the video from a follower of mine who mentioned it being from Lifeteen; another youth group that I preferred to have nothing more to do with after my “encounter” with it. (Found out later that it wasn’t Lifeteen but a Steubenville Conference. So much for trusted sources?)
This was my retweet:
I proceeded to look at the original video and commented a very hateful, mean and nasty comment…. “shudder”.
This, undoubtedly caused the end of the world as we knew it. And many Catholics were kind enough to let me know the horror and damage that I had done.
LOL! You should see the loving, kind and Christlike comments my own tweet got!
The niceness didn’t stop there; some lovely young fellow took it to himself to warn others of the damage that the kind of person like I am capable of incurring upon others.
He posted this on his Twitter;
Hahaha! Check out the comment:
And yes, two days later the damage done is still burning the poor, holy souls to whom it had hurt so very deeply. Today, the means trads (I included) are still being talked about and referenced with laughs and charitable comments..
Now remember kids; always be nice and charitable in your tone…. unless you are disagreed with.. then be sure to follow these lovely peoples’ hypocritical “Catholicism” and bash, and make “examples” of. Because, after all.. it’s all about how many likes you get. And at the end of the day, what matters is if you finally got the other person to freak out and admit they were wrong.
Because when the person just smiles and shrugs your comments off that is NEVER the moment to let the conversation end. You must keep at it, and see if you can get them angry.
Welcome to Catholic Social Media.
Everything is not as it seems.
